Searching the Holy Family Cemetery in Daigle, Maine

You can now search the Holy Family Cemetery. The existing headstone were surveyed in 2004-2005 by Don Raymond, who then added other persons known to be buried in the Holy Family cemetery based on information from other sources.

Don Raymond provided the database and all the information contained therein. I designed the search and resulting reports based on the Ste Luce Cemetery search I created in 2005.

Two different searches are available:

  • A simple search that allows searching for all occurences of a last name within the lastname columns in the cemetery database (buried person's lastname, spouse's lastname, maidenname, father's lastname, and mother's lastname if the names are known and were added to the database record.)
  • An advance search that allows you to search by last name, first name, maiden name, date born, date died, section, lot, spouse relationship, spouse first name, spouse last name, parent relationship, father's first name, father's last name, mother's first name, mother's last name, and notes.

The advance search allows two different report formats:

  • a standard format which returns the buried person's last name, first name, maiden name, date born, date died, section, and lot locations, spouse relationship, spouse's first name and last name, and a details link column.
  • an extended report format which returns all fields and a details link column.

The Cemetery Details screen returns all the information from the database including links to additional information on the person or the family in the Roy and Boucher Family genealogy databaase and links to other web site if additional information is known to be available on the person. A link to a photo of the tombstone is also provided if the tombstone still exists.

In order to search most effectively, please read the information below about each of the fields. You must enter at least one search term for the form to work.

Last name. You can search by full last name (exact), parts of the last name (contains), or the first letter or few letters (starts) of the last name. For women, sometimes the last name is her maiden name and sometimes it is her married name. If the search results are not what you were expecting, you might try searching by maiden name or using the spouse relationship search fields.

First name. Again, searchable by full first name (exact), part of the first name (contains), first letters (starts) of the first name. If you specify exact, the name will not be found if it also contains a middle initial. In which case, you should change the pulldown selection to starts. Middle initials for men typically identify the person's father such as in Claude M. Roy where the M stands for Maxime who was Claude's father. Middle initials for women, may identify her maiden name which has not yet been identified. If the maiden name was identified, I removed the middle initial.

Maiden name. You can search by full maiden name (exact), part of the maiden name (contains) or the first letters (starts) of the maiden name. If the last name was the maiden name, the maiden name was left blank in the database.

Lot Number. You can search by the lot number in which the person is buried. You must specify the lot number exactly, which you might have obtained from the Holy Family Cemetery lot Pages.

Section. You can search by the section of the cemetery.

Spouse Relationship. You can search by spouse relationship by using the pull-down menu and selecting either Husband of or Wife of. You may want to also specify the spouse's first name and/or last name when using the spouse relationship search to limit the search results.

Spouse's First Name. You can search for the spouse's full first name (exact), parts of the spouse's first name (contains), or the first letter or few letters (starts) of spouse's first name.

Spouse's Last Name. You can search for the spouse's full last name (exact), parts of the spouse's last name (contains), or the first letter or few letters (starts) of spouse's last name.

Parent Relationship. You can search by parent relationship by using the pull-down menu and selecting either Daughter of or Son of. You may want to also specify the father's first name and/or last name or the mother's first name and/or last name when using the parent relationship search to limit the search results. If the parent's relationship has not yet been identified, the parent relationship will be blank in the database and therefore will not return any search results.

Father's First Name. You can search for the father's full first name (exact), parts of the father's first name (contains), or the first letter or few letters (starts) of father's first name. If the father's first name has not yet been identified, the father's first name will be blank in the database and therefore will not return any search results.

Father's Last Name. You can search for the father's full last name (exact), parts of the father's last name (contains), or the first letter or few letters (starts) of father's last name. If the father's lat name has not yet been identified, the father's last name will be blank in the database and therefore will not return any search results.

Mother's First Name. You can search for the mother's full first name (exact), parts of the mother's first name (contains), or the first letter or few letters (starts) of mother's first name. If the mother's first name has not yet been identified, the mother's first name will be blank in the database and therefore will not return any search results.

Mother's Last Name. You can search for the mother's full last name (exact), parts of the mother's last name (contains), or the first letter or few letters (starts) of mother's last name. If the mother's maiden name has not yet been identified, the mother's last name will be blank in the database and therefore will not return any search results. If you know the mother's last name, please let me know.

If vous know the names of the parents, please let me know.

Notes. You can search for notes that start with (starts) or contain the entered information (contains). If the person is a veteran, the notes field normally contains information on which war period he/she served in.

Note that not all relationships have currently been added to the database.

Search Results. Once you have entered information into at least one search field (you must enter something on the page), click the "search" button to launch the search, which will return the entries in the database that match your request.

If you'd like to refine your search, use the "Back" button on your browser to return to the search form with your original search request still intact. If you'd like to start a totally new search, you can click the Return to Search form link, or click the "Reset" button after clicking the back button to clear the input fields.

The search result page includes a details link in the Details Link column that displays all the information from the cemetary headstone record in a separate window. If additional information within the Roy and Boucher Family genealogy database is available on the person or family is available, appropriate link(s) are provided. If we are aware that another web site has additional information on the person, a link is also provided. A link to a photo of the tombstone provided by Ron Raymond is available to allow you to see the tombstone, if it still exists.
