    • ORIGIN: André came to Quebec as a soldier in the Allier Company, under the command of Captain Berthier, in the Carignan Regiment, which arrived in the Antilles on 30 Jun, 1665.

      LAND: Following his discharge from the army, André received a land grant in Charlesbourg from Guillemette, daughter of Louis Hebert.(Source - Leo Cyr: Madawaskan Heritage page 37.)

      RESEARCH: 1681 census shows him as age 40 which would put his birth around 1641 which would make more sense that a 1651 birth, since this latter date would mean that he was 14 years old when he deployed with the Carignan-Salière Regiment to Québec in 1665
