    Notes

(All we know about Jean Roy at the moment is that he seduced Marie Boucquenier in January 1604 and did not marry her, although she gave him a son, Olivier Roy, who was baptized on October 2nd, 1604, in Saint-André's Roman Catholic church in Joigny).

The above information was provided by Pierre Le Clercq in a private email written on September 6th, 2010.

DISCLAIMER - There are several trees on Ancestry.com and on WikiTree that show Jean as the son of Nicolas Roy and Elizabeth Ortillon. This relationship is NOT proven, since Oliver's baptismal record clearly shows tht his parents Jean Roy and Marie Boucquenier were NOT married. Thus it is not possible to know who Jean's parents were.
